LOTREL contains 2 prescription medicines that work together to lower blood pressure: amlodipine besylate (the active ingredient found in Norvasc), a calcium channel blocker, and benazepril hydrochloride (Lotensin), an ACE inhibitor.

You may be more likely to have an allergic reaction if you are African-American. Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; severe stomach pain; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Gold : Nitritoid reactions (symptoms include facial flushing, nausea, vomiting and hypotension) have been reported rarely in patients on therapy with injectable gold (sodium aurothiomalate) and concomitant ACE inhibitor therapy.
The peripheral edema associated with amlodipine use is dose-dependent.

Usual Adult Dose for Hypertension:
