Adderall Comedown? 10 Tips to Bounce Back After the Crash

10.17.2017 | Logan Miers

I've mastered the art of coping with Adderall-induced dopamine depletion. If you're trying to sleep after crashing from using stimulants during the day, you. z-drugs like Ambien or Lunesta; melatonin-mimetics like Rozerem.

Vitamin C is also an antioxidant that crosses the blood brain barrier and helps protect the brain from oxidative stress related to amphetamine use. Cranberry juice and vitamin C may help acidify the urine and promote Adderall clearance. Read more about how I use vitamin C with Adderall here.

Six hours after dosing, you may notice a dip in energy level. At this stage, I tend to experience irritability, moodiness, and difficulty concentrating.

Instant release (IR) Adderall lasts about 6 hours in terms of subjective effects, though it lingers in your system for longer.

I take Adderall and do take it late in the day, and i am starting with a new anti-anxiety / sleep is good enough for some people to be a sedative and reduce the crash after taking stimulants. Other times it's the sleep aid Ambien or Diazepam.

Does anyone else take stimulant meds very late in the afternoon? I take Adderall - between 30 to 45 mgs per day. So I take my first dose (20+/-mgs) around lunchtime and then the next dose much later than the recommended time - like about 5:00pm. Usually I find I need to function the most after 2:00 pm and later.

I DO take a chewable 'children's' benedryl at night sometimes. I'm trying to cut down on the evening Adderal doses but it's difficult. Thanks for the info. I average 30 mgs /day but sometimes will add an extra 15mgs (half a tablet) in the late afternoon.

I also have taken ambien to sleep for the last few years. I've had seizure's in the past after not having a goods not sleep. I've been taking.

Is this normal for the first few months of starting adderall? With anticonvulsants ? Getting it all leveled out or is there a better ADD medication ?

Anyway, any opinions about marjuana would be helpful. I don’t want to have surgery again. Nicole4success.

I did Keppra for years but it stopped controlling seizures & I switched. Thank you Nicole! I have seen Vimpat in conversation & what not a lot lay but haven’t stopped & read on it.

Sleep meds do not work well for me either.

Adderall Crash - How to Deal with the Crash

8.15.2017 | Jennifer Bargeman

UPDATED article on adderall crash symptoms and what you can do to avoid the crash. from the adderall side effects of the crash, and passing out after the job is done is like cloud-9. This pushes me over the edge and gets me to fall asleep fast. Be careful not to mix uppers (adderall) and ambien (downers) together too.

Here’s what to do in order to help ease the adderall crash next time. You most likely took too much adderall throughout the day, and pushed yourself to exhaustion and you’re now unable to do anything else, thus resulting in your adderall crash. Please work on passing out. Your head hurts, speaking gets slurred, and now you either need to get back to the way you felt 2 hours ago (you won’t feel that good so please call it quits with my adderall rule that you need to instill) or you need to pass out from this crash.

In addition...what do you do for your blurred vision? Do glasses or contacts help with this?

Since I have a month before I can see the dr., I thought I'd ask all of you if you have tried either one of these - or both at the same time - and what you think of them?

I am not currently on any medications, had unsuccessful prior attempts w/ Klonopin, Cymbalta, Wellbutrin (allergic) and w/ herbal remedies. I have an appointment w/ my doctor in March to ask about taking Ambien for sleep.

I do need help w/ sleep, but I also need help with my terrible brain-fog. I thought I would ask my doctor about this too. This morning, I read about Adderall (normally for ADHD) and that it has helped people w/ fibro with their fatigue and brain-fog, increasing focus and helping w/ motivation. Non-med solutions are not working, so it's time to pull out the big guns. I have such difficulty concentrating, remembering things (even w/ notes to self), etc. If I don't find a solution, I may need to change jobs - it's getting that bad.
