Gabapentin (Neurontin) is an anticonvulsant medication in the GABA analog A doc put me on gabapentin to help get me off benzos with the.

By 1:00pm or so, it starts to let up. I think the fast movement over stimulates my brain and I have actually had to pull over. I have been totally off now for a week. especially in the mornings. UGH! I had read about the magnesium and started on Calm twice a day. But I have still suffered the symptoms. But if I drive in the mornings it is hell. I am dizzy enough that I feel uncomfortable.

Also try PLUS CDB OIL, NORDIC FISH OIL (high in DHA), MEGAFOOD ADRENAL STRENGTH & a melatonin. Joyce and Heather, There is a REALLY GREAT magnesium called CALM!! It is a powder and it will help you beyond measure.

My sister was on 3 mg of clonazepam and switched to gabapentin (not sure.. Some people have very little difficulty getting off the benzos, but.

Yeah, maybe she read this: http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/804740.

And the "good" news is that it doesn't always help with withdrawl sx, and it is another "brain med" that requires a taper to get off of.

I've been reading gobs about all this online when I get a connection. Some people have very little difficulty getting off the benzos, but there are thousands and thousands and thousands of us who will apparently go thru hell for months/years.our brains have been damaged.some suggest it is permanent.

My dr. who helped me get off by putting me on neurontin. Not only am I having anxiety but also negative obsessive thoughts. I do know that klonopin withdrawals last a long time. 5 klonopin for about 10 months and had a horrible time trying to get off of it. says it's still the klonopin withdrawing because he says that neurontin doesn't cause withdrawals. Everytime I reduce I have increased anxiety for several days. Any comments or does anyone have experience with this? Loading.

Gabapentin (Neurontin) Withdrawal with Magnesium Dr. Carolyn

I'll give the example of a 50-year old woman who is weaning off Gabapentin. She was given this drug to help her get off benzodiazepines.

I think that can occur because a commonly used anesthetic, Desflurane, has 6 fluoride molecules that can bind up magnesium. I think this woman was very magnesium-deficient and probably needed ReMag and ReMyte to balance her biochemistry. Many people l me that they have been unwell since surgery.

She was given this drug to help her get off benzodiazepines, which she was prescribed after becoming severely depressed following a surgical procedure 5 years ago. I’ll give the example of a 50-year old woman who is weaning off Gabapentin.
