They offered me a sleeping pill (Ambien), but I was kind of nervous to take it,. For the record, I never felt ANY pain during pushing or birth.

Well, I’m here to l you that I thought my induction went pretty darn well and to l you my story. I’m letting it all hang out here, so if you’re squeamish about the whole birthing process, or very long narratives, you may want to skip this one!.
It was time to push. Two nurses came in and got my bed in the right position, helped me hold my legs, and told me when I was having a contraction so I could push.
Her successful home birth after 4 c-sections was a tremendously Zolpidem (brand name: Ambien), on the other hand, is a drug used to.

After around 14 hours of climbing up the walls in agony, not being checked by the midwives and being told I wasn’t in labour because Prostin Gel never works the first time, I was going to be transferred 30 miles away by ambulance for an epidural. With my first I was awake all night and was compley worn out after almost four hours of pushing and nor delivering until late afternoon. Slept hard for four hours and it wad bliss. Could not go through that again. I jumped all over that. Never taken anything to help me sleep.

Thank you ladies so so so so much for the info.
Has anyone had ambien during labor.??? Went to l and d. Had been contracting all day starting off 7 min then 5 min then 3-4 min. At my last.
They gave me an ambien when I was in labor too. I had such bad contractions that they kept me awake. Unfortunay, it didn't work.

Then my midwife gave me Demerol (a pain killer) to "help me sleep." I was in the hospital instead of home, but I didn't have much success sleeping.I was too excited! I remember being really loopy too, but try to get as much sleep as you can now so you will be your best during delivery! My 2nd baby was born at 1am and I was so tired I fell asleep soon after she was born.
